Travis Scott has been making headlines more than usual these past few weeks. The superstar rapper has been forced to endure numerous posts about his baby mama’s alleged “trifling ways” due to the fact that she was seen meeting up with her ex Tyga on a late night. And while she claims that she did not cheat on Travis, it appears that the young rapper will likely be alright. But I can’t help but be skeptical about this situation considering that at around the same time he also dropped his latest single “Highest In The Room”. Therefore, the question arises, was this scandal on purpose in order for the media to talk about Travis while he announces the drop of his new song? Sounds like a great marketing tactic to me.

Nonetheless, we can’t deny that Travis continues to shatter streaming records. On Friday, he dropped "Highest In The Room," a single which as of now is unrestrained by commitment to a project. And it's exactly that which helped it secure a new milestone, according to Chartdata. But you can’t blame me for being a skeptic and connecting the Kylie scandal to his success.
With 3.94 million streams in the first week, the rapper’s latest single has officially become the most-streamed U.S. single without an album in HISTORY. Again, what perfect timing to drop a single am I right? After all, can anything Kardashian-related ever be trusted? Like it or not, Travis Scott will forever be entwined with the notorious family of media-manipulating-masters. Let’s just hope he doesn’t get sunked into the “dark place” like Kanye.
However, it is clear that no one can take away Travis success as he has been breaking records and achieving new milestones way before getting with a Kardashian. But you can’t help but ask yourself, was “Highest In The Room” a genuine effort at announcing a new project? Or did he follow the Kardashian way and market his single with his scandal?
